    • Heard he left her high and dry. Very bad blood. He seems to move around a lot. First KW, now LD, and now he’s on the move again (NT) — only a TC a short while, 16/05/19 17:00:05, Thu

    • As a casual reader on Voy who knows zero about the persons mentioned I would consider it none of my business what they are doing. I find it fascinating the amount of folk on Voy who get their knickers in a twist fretting over other folks business. As granny used to say.. (NT) — you must have little to worry about!, 16/05/19 17:41:33, Thu
    • Going to teach in cork city ballyphehane area. Exciting news (NT) — Dancemom, 16/05/19 18:33:05, Thu
    • Good luck John. (NT) — Nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all., 17/05/19 9:18:44, Fri
    • There’s no bad blood between L & J and he hasn’t left anyone “high and dry” as stated above. J will continue to do L’s workshops. The only thing that has changed is, J will now teach his own students in Cork as well as L’s kids in limerick. SP has NOT moved to a different school. (NT) — Continues to dance under LD, 17/05/19 10:38:18, Fri
    • Is there going to be classes in Limerick from now on. Interested they are both great teachers lucky kids (NT) — Tina, 17/05/19 10:46:54, Fri
    • LD school is in limerick. JL school is in cork. JL does LD workshops in limerick but only teaches his own school in cork (NT) — Don’t understand why there is confusion, 17/05/19 14:16:54, Fri

    • ‘teaching his own school in Cork’ thought he only advertised yesterday that he was starting a new school. Not taking beginners until September- so who is he supposedly teaching if only a new school ?? (NT) — Very clear what’s going on, 17/05/19 19:26:40, Fri
      • Please share information about what’s going on (NT) — ., 17/05/19 19:29:51, Fri

    • Not sure about all Scots but for gbs u can’t dance up as you have to be born in a specific year. E.g. u6s must be born in 2013. (NT) — ., 17/05/19 8:29:35, Fri
    • We went a few years ago to GB and wasn’t allowed to dance as my child was u5 believe it or not a parent from another school complained ! My tc and I did not know this , not sure about Scots I would check first good luck (NT) — Mum, 17/05/19 13:51:07, Fri
      • Dance mammies be crazy regardless of age. Sad individuals! In fairness, your TC should have known this before entering your child and the syllabus always lists the year of birth for competitors eligible to participate. (NT) — on the other hand, the organisers should have notified your TC when your entry was received that dancer was too young., 17/05/19 14:29:33, Fri
        • I agree tc should have known and entry not accepted , still a lesson and yes dance mums def crazy (NT) — Mum, 17/05/19 19:05:42, Fri

    • Oops, thought they were both qualifiers. Thanks for clearing that up. (NT) — M, 17/05/19 11:55:01, Fri
    • The qualifying rotates between three comps. Great Britain’s this year, Scottish Nationals 2020 and the British Nationals 2021. (NT) — And so on, 17/05/19 12:31:42, Fri
      • Is the Scottish Nationals different to the All Scotland’s? If so what time of year is it. (NT) — Newbie, 17/05/19 13:19:05, Fri
      • The secondary qualiers are GBs, ALL SCOTLAND, British Nationals. The Scottish Nationals is not in the rotation. (NT) — Yes, the Scottish National is different to the All Scotlands., 17/05/19 14:36:37, Fri
    • learn something new every day. thanks for the info (NT) — m, 17/05/19 12:36:15, Fri
    • The All Scotland does not have qualifying status. The above information is incorrect. Qualifying events for UK dancers rotate between Great Britain’s (this year) Scottish Nationals (next year) and British Nationals 2021 (NT) — TC, 17/05/19 15:45:34, Fri
      • When was it changed from All Scots to Scottish Nationals being in the rotation with the GBs and BNs changed and where is this information posted? (NT) — TIA, 17/05/19 17:35:42, Fri
      • Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Scottish Nationals is a secondary qualifier for those living in the UK and mainland Europe. (NT) — Whereas the All Scotlands is a worldwide secondary qualifier, on rotation, with the GBs, BNs., 17/05/19 18:21:17, Fri
        • No. The only worldwide qualifier is all irelands The UK and mainland Europe secondary rotates usually between all Scots gbs and bns but 1 yr when the secondary was cancelled due to no venue the Scottish nationals was the qualifier. (NT) — ., 17/05/19 18:35:29, Fri
      • See inside, taken from CLRG’s website. It relates to judges, but notes ‘qualifying events’ and defines same — So, yes, the All Scotlands is a secondary ‘qualifying event’. see inside, 17/05/19 18:55:10, Fri

          • Yes it is, people need to look past the big brands that put money before animal welfare! There are other amazing brands out there now that are cruelty free. (NT) — I would love to see the young MUA’s promoting the cruelty versions. Mostly it’s coz people don’t realise that some Co’s still teat on animals. (Hopeful!), 8/05/19 21:52:20, Wed

              • Benefit another big offender i missed out.. also chanel, clinique, ysl (NT) — Lots of cruelty free brands out there, agree with NYX & revolution for affordable brands., 10/05/19 9:48:48, Fri
          • What a silly statement. That’s like saying if you’re not vegetarian or vegan, may as well just let animals suffer in every way, and to hell with the environment too! (NT) — Not useless at all, I don’t get these attitudes. We can only hope they bring out vegan leather dance shoes in the future, until then let’s do our best, 11/05/19 8:45:57, Sat
            • SOrry meant to reply to the poster saying it was useless because we use leather shoes in ID (NT) — Also cosmetics is such an easy switch when there are so many CF brands out there, why wouldn’t you do it? In the face of vanity too, it’s disgraceful. As for shoes we have no other choice, 11/05/19 8:51:19, Sat
    • Delighted to see the cruelty free aspect being discussed as I think a lot of people just assume Co’s don’t teat on animals anymore. I was shocked when I realised they did. (NT) — Every bit helps to change the mindset and most young girls I know would hate to see animals suffer., 8/05/19 21:59:46, Wed
      • Some cruelty free brands off the top of my head: nyx, urban decay, Barry m, stila, topshop makeup, Charlotte tilbury, hourglass, revolution, Anastasia, body shop. Would recommend NYX & revolution overall in terms of affordability (NT) — Some owned by parent companies that test but depends on your view on this, still better than buying from those that test., 8/05/19 22:04:48, Wed

I was at the World Championships in the US last week and for the first time I noticed the introduction of nationals anthems to start the day’s competitions each morning. The Irish , the Canadian and the USA. Before anybody thinks this post is to start a political debate, it’s not. I must say I have no problem with the matter however it did make me wonder why other countries were left out. I am aware it would take far too long to play every contestant’s home country anthem but just wondered where the choice came from to play Canada’s over Australia, or GB for example? I could understand if maybe just Ireland and USA since it is Irish Dancing after all, and considering the event was being held in America. I loved it and think it should remain. It made everybody feel very proud and made the event feel as important as it should but surely it should be equal?

    • I was not at Worlds, but at most feises my girls have attended, at the start of each feis they play those 3 national anthems. American, because it’s in the U.S., Canadian, because we have many Canadian competitors, and Irish, because it is Irish dance. Perhaps it was just habit? • Thank you, so I’m 22 turning 23 in December . So I should be doing hp and reel. That suits me. (NT) — Time to get back to dancing (Thanks), 8/05/19 11:37:31, Wed
      • No. If you are u23 now, you would be tj/sj now and that’s what your group would do at Worlds 2020. Please check your steps with your TC. (NT) — Good luck, 8/05/19 16:17:02, Wed

          • The original question was what dances in each age group for Worlds next year. Worlds 2020 you will do whatever your dances are THIS year. So if u23 this year, you will need to qualify with tj/sj and dance those at Worlds in 2020. (NT) — But again, talk to TC, 8/05/19 21:03:56, Wed

          • But the OP said she was u23 THIS year, so senior next year (NT) — Read it properly, 9/05/19 11:53:20, Thu
        • not u23 at qualifiers – the poster keeps confusing this. Qualifiers are U22. A U22 dancer this year will not be Senior Ladies next year Worlds, they will be U23. U22 is dancing Sj/Tj; 22+ will be HP/Reel. Worlds, U23 will dance Sj/Tj and 23+ will dance HP/Reel (NT) — the OP didn’t say what she was, 9/05/19 17:07:39, Thu

Only reason qualifiers are different is to account for the fact the u23 this year will be senior next year., 10/05/19 9:43:06, Fri
